NUSPS Little India outing (19 Feb 2011)

Joined the National University of Singapore Photography Society Street Photography Outing to Little India.

It was a fruitful outing for street shoot. Street photography is interesting as there's no rules. It can be shot from waist level without anyone knows that you are shooting where pictures will be the most natural, or good interaction with the subjects where they are very comfortable for photos taking and open up more opportunities for better photos. Tried a combination of shooting techniques even though they are not my style of shooting and I'm quite satisfied with the results.

Shooting with a 30mm and 11-16mm, the focal length forced me to train shooting up close to my subjects. Either try to interact with them to shoot or really shoot without them know. On the other hand, the LEICA do not offer me time to slowly compose through the viewfinder and to get the time to get the focus. Good training.
Just when I thought I'm really happy with the output of today's shots. I remember a quote and it applies to today's pictures - "Close, but not close enough".... and I think, cropping is not an option, your legs are the best zoom....
